⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an incredible first experience at Umiya Sushi! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, the restaurant was spotless, and the staff made us feel genuinely appreciated. Every dish that came to our table was beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and packed with flavor. You can truly tell that great care goes into every roll and every plate. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail reminded me of the kind of dining experience you hope for every time you go out. This wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience. If Michelin awarded stars to restaurants in Lubbock, Umiya Sushi would certainly deserve to be in the conversation. The balance of quality, presentation, hospitality, and value exceeded every expectation. We were in town visiting Texas Tech University with our son, and this restaurant became one of the highlights of our trip. My wife and daughter couldn’t make it this time, but after tonight I already know exactly where I’ll be bringing them when we return in August. Umiya Sushi has earned repeat customers, and I can’t wait to introduce the rest of my family to this hidden gem. Thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable din

Today was our first time trying this restaurant, and we really enjoyed the food. Everything was delicious! I ordered the all-you-can-eat hot pot and sushi, while my boyfriend ordered the all-you-can-eat sushi. The service was good overall, but there was one thing I didn’t like. A waiter brought us the bill, and then another staff member came to our table and charged our card while I was still eating. When I looked at the bill, I noticed we had been seated at 7:11 PM. I then checked my phone, and it was exactly 8:11 PM. The menu clearly states that customers have a 2-hour dining limit, so we had only been there for one hour. It made me feel like we were being rushed to leave, or perhaps there was a misunderstanding. I asked the waiter if we could still order more food since we actually had one hour remaining, and they allowed us to continue ordering. Overall, everything else was great. The food was excellent, and we would definitely come back. I just hope the timing issue was a misunderstanding because it made us feel a little rushed.

We decided to try Umiya after seeing they have a very extensive hot pot menu compared to momotaro. We had a group of 8 people. The food was phenomenal and our waitress did an outstanding job. We chose to do both the hot pot and all you can eat menus. Lin was our waitress, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended some stellar sushi for us to try. She was very kind and was accurately guessing what kind of sushi we would like. We had one malfunction where our tables stopped working but the staff was quick to move us and even gave us a 10% discount for the inconvenience. The atmosphere was nice, especially for taking pictures. We tried a few of the cocktails as well! The Ichigi Geisha was a great drink for someone not wanting to taste the alcohol but have a pleasant evening. All in all we had a fantastic night and will be coming back again!

Amazing place! Beautiful inside! The all you can eat sushi is worth the price without compromising on quality. Their unique sushi builds are extremely delicious! Mixed drinks are good. The service was over all good but there were a couple of times we ordered something but didn’t get it until the server came around to ask if we wanted to order anymore then realized we hadn’t gotten all our rolls. In her defense it seemed more like the fault of the iPad system they have. Worth it! We’ll different be back.

Umiya sushi and seafood just opened this past weekend, therefore, we had to try it out! I am so happy to say that we were nicely surprised by the freshness and high quality of the food. They have some items I have not seen offered at other sushi venues, such as harumaki, sweet potato tempura, and tempura Oreo, to name a few. The ambiance is contemporary and relaxing. Service was attentive. Servers still learning, but will be excellent soon! I would highly recommend you give it a try!
